Dungeons & Dragons Online's drow: don't call them night elves

Okay, what do you see when you look at those pictures?

If said “night elves”, you make Drizzt cry. Although they’ll look very familiar to World of Warcraft players, these are drow elves from Dungeons & Dragons Online. Dungeons & Dragons was doing “night elves” before there was any such thing as an MMO, or even a CRPG. The drow began in the 1977 module Hall of the Fire Giant King. And now they’re a playable race in Dungeons & Dragons Online, Turbine’s MMO that recently converted from a subscription model to a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
